The view from here

Well, we've been married for a month. And we love it.

In some respects it doesn't feel all that different than before. The day to day is mostly the same, the things we worry about are the same, the bills need to be paid just the same. :) But it's also different. It feels different. It is different.

And different is awesome.

On Memorial Day evening we took a little drive up to Foster to visit the fish hatchery. The hatchery was mostly locked up and there were only two little tanks of trout that we could get to, so we fed them a little. Then we took our extra fish food and drove around the lake and found a little side road with a bridge to spit off of enjoy the view from.

(Holy cow, my baby is getting so old.)

We used the pretty backdrop to get a few nice family pictures...

And then we got a couple of actually nice ones. :)

Life is busy as always! We're gearing up for the end of the school year, which is always exciting. Jordan is getting ready to start summer camp in a couple of weeks, which is also exciting! He's thrilled to see his camp friends again, and thrilled that his birthday is coming up next month. My brother's fiance will also be watching him in the mornings, and we're hoping to get a little head-start with some homeschooling during that time. I'm hopeful that this summer will be a real take-off time for him as far as reading goes. I'm anxious to put him through one more year of public school while really, seriously considering homeschooling in the fall of 2012. Our hope is that we'll be welcoming a new baby around that time as well, and that I can become a stay at home mom. :) Of course the reality of finances weighs us down a little in that dream. But we're still talking about it!

Our little garden is doing well... aside from the cucumber plants. I cannot keep those guys alive because something VERY persistent is eating them. My pepper plants also have chew holes in the leaves, as well as the lower leaves on my raspberries. I'm new to this gardening thing so I'm not sure how to get rid of whatever it is.

This weekend calls for sunny skies and temps around 80! We're so thrilled that we're packing up our fishing poles and a picnic and heading to the lake to celebrate Steve's 37th birthday with some friends. :) I'm so thankful for that man. Because he's MY man. :)

Hi there! Congrats on your one month anniversary! :)

We've been homeschooling for about 5 years now, and it's a very big, and often, difficult decision for many families to make. We struggled with it, but once we started, we knew it was what we were supposed to be doing. :)

Can I recommend a free ebook, a Welcome to Homeschooling Guide by Time4Learning? It's a great read...comprehensive without being overwhelming, lol. It helped me with a lot of my anxiety, hopefully it can help you with your decision.

Good luck, with whatever decision you make. :) Have a great summer!

Thank you for the resources, Kat! I'm trying to gather a whole arsenal of them. :)
